A few weeks ago I lost control while launching off the beach and ended up driving up the rocks. Fortunately I have been watching and learning from many videos and threads so I knew that the tough plastic would survive. If it was fibreglass the entire bottom would have been ripped out. Fortunately the hull only sustained a few scratches.
Yesterday I had the graphics installed professionally and the installer informed me that the scratches can be removed (90%) by very lightly going over the affected area with a blow torch. Have any of you folks ever tried this before?
I also have a product called Marine Tek that I guess is the polyethelene version of a fibreglass repair kit that I will be using to cosmetically repair some gouges on the underhull. Though I am the original owner of Thunderstruck, it was used as a demo boat by the dealer who has since gone out of business probably due to lack of popularity in this area. I'm quite confident in saying I have the only catamaran in Halifax Harbour

That's the first I've heard of those 2 types of scratch/gouge repair. Interesting.
Only thing I've done is trim off any protrusions from scratches or gouges with a sharp knife or razor blade.
