I've never tried one before and as the WAVE is a wet boat what do you folks recommend?

I just purchased a Kokatat Hydrus 3L SuperNova Angler Paddling Suit to extend my sailing season here in CO next year. I have no experience with dry suits yet, but I got this one after doing a lot of research. I decided on a Kokatat because I believe it's the only American made dry suit, it has a lifetime warranty, it has good reviews, it has a neoprene neck gasket which is more comfortable, it has a relief zipper allowing you to go #1 without removing the suit, and it has good breathability.
Now's a good time of year to purchase one. Several places online have closeout specials going on.
Hope that helps, Jim

Hi Rob, I've always wanted a drysuit and did some research way back when. Never pulled the trigger on one though. I think a good stating point wood be the Boost from O'Neil. Affordable and reviews seem very good for the price. You can get almost up to $1K so gets pretty expensive. I would look for suits with critical wear points reinforced. Like knees, elbows, seat as those areas will take a lot of abuse sailing a cat. Just some thoughts and let us know what you decide and why. I found one on e-bay (I've never shopped on e-bay before) that comes to $447 CDN. It has all the reinforced points like you mention Steve plus sewn in boots. Should be here in the third week of January. Would love to have had it today as I took out the CL 16 for a spin around Bedford Basin.

Ahh, Congrats Rob, Let us know how you like it for sure. Have fun out there and be safe. Post some pics with ice hanging off the rigging LOL when you get a chance. Seen pics years ago of maniacs sailing H16's with heavy snow coming down. That is truly hardcore! Best, Steve

The drysuit I got on eBay was stolen from my CRV so I replaced it today with a Henri Lloyd Brand. I was so upset I was physically ill but fortunately I have a credit card.

wow sorry to hear that TS. I understand about that sit' making you ill. I had a beautiful mp3 player (cowon) stolen out of my jeep in a matter of 30 seconds years ago. Was a present from my wife and was the best on the market back in 2008. Still makes me pissed after all this time whenever I think about it.
