Thanks, unfortunately it'll be a number of months before I'm on the water again - I live way up north but my boat is at my family's cabin in eastern Ontario.
I got my Wave a few years ago, needed get sailing again after watching my old Laser II slowly disintegrate under a tarp for years (sold if for parts). One nice think about the Wave is that it breaks down into parts so well - each hull only 80 pounds or so and 13 feet long.
I too have been considering whether to modify the Wave to squeeze more performance out of it, or upgrade. I had looked at that Topaz 14, but also the Nacra 460. My issue is that I'm on a somewhat tricky, rocky lee shore - somewhat steep and with lots of trees. I don't want to have to wrestle a 320 lb boat onto the shore.
I shared the view of the Hobie T2 that it seems like a hulking beast - a Getaway without the forward trampoline. Had it been 15 feet, 260 pounds with a decent sail plan I would have sprung for one.
Thanks for hosting this forum!

Laser sailor! You guys are animals! I sail with a guy occasionally with a laser. He's in his mid 70's. Usually comes off the water when it's just getting fun for me. :-( .Although, I've seen vids of guys sailing those things in insane conditions. I hear ya on your choice for the Wave. It really is a great durable and fun to sail boat. I just drag mine up on the concrete ramp at the launch. They are "TOUGH" for sure and light!
Great to have you KP and all the best, Steve
